This week I introduced some sorting works with colored wooden beads. Once the beads were sorted by color, children could use embroidery needles and thread to make necklaces. Necklace making is a pre-sewing work because of the hand-eye coordination required to put the needle through the hole of the bead. This is also the first time most of the children have been given the opportunity to use a needle rather than the short wooden dowels that are used with the lacing blocks and lacing shapes.
